Lawrence Page obtained his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 1964 and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1965 where he has practiced in the areas of natural resource law and corporate and securities law to the present date. Through his experience with natural resource companies and, in particular, precious metals development, Mr. Page has established a unique relationship with financiers, geologists and consultants and has been counsel for public Companies which have discovered and developed producing mines in North America. Specifically, he has been a Director and Officer of Companies which have discovered and brought into production the David Bell and Page Williams mines in Ontario, the Snip, Calpine/Eskay Creek and Mascot Gold Mines in British Columbia, as well as the discovery of the Penasquito Mine in Mexico.
Mr. Page is the principal of the Manex Resource Group of Vancouver which provides administrative, financial, corporate, corporate finance and geological services to a number of public companies in the mineral resource sector. He currently serves as a director of six public companies, including Homestake Resource Corporation, Bravada Gold Corporation, Quaterra Resources Inc., Southern Silver Exploration Corp. and Valterra Resource Corporation.
Mr. Macdonald is the Vice President of Geological Services for the Manex Resource Group of Companies and in such capacity has been the Exploration Manager for several publicly listed companies including Homestake Resource Corporation (formerly Bravo Gold Corp.), Southern Silver Exploration Corp., Valterra Resource Corporation, Duncastle Gold Corp. and Fortune River Resource Corp. Mr. Macdonald has overseen the exploration of many projects throughout North America including the discovery and delineation of the high-grade 1.2 million ounce Homestake Ridge Au-Ag deposit in northern British Columbia and is currently advancing Southern Silver’s 10 million tonne Cerro Las Minitas Ag-Pb-Zn project, Durango State, Mexico. Mr. Macdonald graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1990 and earned a MSc. from the University of British Columbia in 1999. Over his career in the geosciences Mr. Macdonald's work has focused on vein and intrusion-related gold systems and VMS environments. Prior to joining Manex, Mr. Macdonald worked as a geologist with the British Columbia Geological Survey and Teck Exploration on projects in Alaska, Peru and British Columbia.
Mr. Thatcher moved from London, England to Vancouver, British Columbia in 2006. Specializing in financial reporting and auditing across a breadth of business sectors in both the UK and Canada, he brings extensive experience of operating with International Financial Reporting Standards and paperless systems. He is also senior accountant at Manex Resource Group which provides administrative, financial, corporate, corporate finance and geological services to a number of public companies in the mineral resource sector. Prior to this, he worked in public practice at Smythe Ratcliffe LLP with companies in the mining and exploration sector. Mr. Thatcher obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in Economics from Lancaster University in 1995, which included a one year program at the University of British Columbia. He is also a finalist of global accounting designation, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Mr. Thatcher is also volunteer board member and treasurer at Heritage Hall Preservation Society, a non-profit charitable organization whose mandate is to restore and manage Heritage Hall, a landmark building located in Vancouver.
Arie Page obtained her law degree in 2004 and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2005. Ms. Page currently serves as corporate secretary to several public resource companies in the minerals sector including Bravada Gold Corporation, Pacific Ridge Exploration Ltd., Southern Silver Exploration Corp. and Valterra Resource Corporation.
He has 40 years experience in the mining and exploration industry in North America, México and Guatemala principally with epithermal gold/silver, polymetallic base metal, and nickel and coal deposits. He was the Country Manger (México) for Teck Corporation and its Mexican subsidiary, Minera Teck S.A. de C.V. from 1992 to 2002. Under his direction, Minera Teck discovered the 72 million tonne San Nicolas volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit in Zacatecas, México and the El Limon gold skarn in Guerrero, México. From 2004 until December 2010, he was initially the Vice President of Exploration and later President of Scorpio Mining Corporation and its Mexican subsidiary Minera Cosalá. During this time, he was responsible administration and execution of the exploration, development and initial production of the Nuestra Señora polymetallic silver mine in Sonora, México as well as supervising the construction of the 1,400 tonne per day flotation mill.
Mr. Spiering is an exploration geologist with over 30 years of international experience in mineral exploration and senior level project management in the Western United States, South America, and Europe. As VP Exploration with Rio Narcea Gold Mines, he participated in every aspect of the mining industry from discovery through project development and production of the El Valle gold and Aguablanca nickel mines in Spain. He is presently VP Exploration for Quaterra Resources Inc. and Duncastle Gold Corp. Mr. Spiering is a registered member of Society of Mining, Metallurgy, & Exploration and a fellow member of Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
After attending Gordonstoun School and the College of Law in London, Nigel joined Lloyds of London Insurance broker CT Bowring & Co in 1979, which subsequently became Marsh & McLennan. In 1997 Nigel joined Suffolk Life, an embryonic Insurance company. Nigel became a Director in 1998, and over the next 10 years played a pivotal role turning the company into one of the UK’s leading self-invested personal pension (SIPP) administrators. Nigel was for many years not only the main Media contact at Suffolk Life, but also had sole responsibility for the Sales & Marketing of the business. By 2008 Suffolk Life had £2.5 billion assets under management and the business was bought by Legal & General for £62.5m. Since then Nigel has focused on his various Charitable & Investment interests, which are mainly in the commodity and precious metals space which has become a passion for Nigel.
Dr. Buchanan serves as the Chief Geologist and President of Electrum Resources LLC. Dr. Buchanan served as the Chief Geologist of Apex Corporation since 1995. Prior to that he served as a Principal Advisor of international operations at Apex Silver Mines Ltd. He is a noted exploration geologist with a reputation as one of the industry's leading experts on epithermal deposits, on which he has written several definitive texts. Dr. Buchanan serves as a Director of Begeyge Minera Ltda. He was previously a Director of TintinaGold Resources Inc. (formerly, Mantra Mining Inc.) from 2009 to 2011. His analysis of such deposits has given rise to the industry paradigm known as 'The Buchanan Model'. Dr. Buchanan has published eight geological texts, played a key role in identifying several multi-million ounce gold deposits, and developed implementation programs for numerous currently producing mines. His consulting clients included Cyprus Minerals Company, FMC Corporation, Total Resources, Inc. and Fischer-Watt Gold Co. Inc. He is the 2006 recipient of the Thayer Lindsley award for the discovery of the San Cristobal Mine located in the Potosi Mining district of Bolivia. Dr. Buchanan holds a B.Sc. and a Ph. D in economic geology from the Colorado School of Mines.
Mr. Cheesbrough is President of the Exploration Division of The Electrum Group LLC. He has more than 30 years of experience as a senior financial executive of public and private companies in various industries including the mining industry, where he was the Chief Financial Officer of Echo Bay Mines Ltd. Most recently, Mr. Cheesbrough was Chief Financial Officer of ZeaChem, the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for CIBER, a global information technology consulting, services and outsourcing company listed on the NYSE. He serves on the board of Sunward Resources Ltd. Mr. Cheesbrough is a chartered accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.
Mr. Donald R. Head, a native of Arizona and a resident of Scottsdale graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Business and holds a law degree from the University of Arizona. He co-founded Centurian Development and Investments Inc., a company engaged in real estate development. He practiced as an Attorney in Arizona where, for many years, he represented Canadian public mineral exploration companies in property acquisitions and equity finance. He has served in an advisory capacity and as a Director of Canadian public companies, notably Valterra Resource Corporation, Southern Silver Exploration Corp., Fortune River Resource Corp. and Duncastle Gold Corp. He currently serves as Officer of Head Management Investments LLC. and formerly served as the Founder, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Capital Title Group Inc., a public company providing title insurance services in the USA, since inception in 1981 until it was sold in 2006 for gross proceeds of $ 265 million.
