Southern Silver Exploration Corp. is pleased to announce the appointment of Nazlin Rahemtulla to its Board of Directors, effective March 26, 2007.

Ms. Rahemtulla is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Weiler Smith Bowers Consulting Structural Engineers. Previously, she was Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of the The McLean Group; an Investment Advisor with RBC Dominion Securities Inc., and served as Manager, International Services for RBC Global Private Banking. Nazlin attended Simon Fraser University and obtained her Fellowship in the Institute of Canadian Bankers . She has held an Investment Advisor License and also has a Diploma in Business Administration from St. Godricks College in London, England.

Southern Silver has granted 100,000 stock options to Ms. Rahemtulla at an exercise price of $0.58, such options to vest over a period of one year with one-third being exercisable immediately, one-third being exercisable after six months, and becoming fully vested after a period of one year, subject to the TSX Venture Exchange four month hold period. The options will expire in five years.
